Department of Computer Science and Engineering at MIET was formed in 2011. The Department provides an outstanding learning environment complemented by excellence in teaching. Ever since its inception, the department has been a pioneering academic centre for higher education and innovation in key areas of Computer Science.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducts B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the undergraduate level the sanctioned intake for B.Tech is 120 seats .

With an excellent faculty pool of experience and rich intellectual capital base and state-of-the-art laboratories, the department has consistently performed well with the commitment towards excellence. The department has the good number of faculty with Ph.D. qualification and substantial experience in teaching and industry and can boast of the faculty stability in the department. With such a strong intellectual capital, the department fosters and encourages a teaching methodology that has both a theoretical and practical approach.

The departmental laboratories are well equipped with the latest equipment as per the requirements of the curriculum and are updated as per new technology from time to time.

The excellent academic performance combined with all-round development through a range of events and activities has translated into good placements of our students. The Department conducts a number of co-curricular and industry relevant programs including seminars, industrial visits, guest lectures and conferences to improve the competence and employability of its students.

Faculty development and research orientation are an important focus in the department. Faculty members are encouraged to participate in research activities as well as supported to attend faculty development programs related to their respective fields.

In harmony with the College ideology of research orientation of faculty and students, the department publishes its own departmental journal Glimpse with articles contributed by faculty and students. The bi-annual journal is managed by the departmental editorial board.
